FAQ

Eye Exams & Health

Can digital screens harm my eyes?

Extended screen time can cause digital eye strain and discomfort. We recommend blue light-filtering lenses, proper screen ergonomics, and the 20-20-20 rule (taking breaks every 20 minutes).

What is myopia management, and how does it work?

yopia management slows the progression of nearsightedness, particularly in children. We offer solutions like MiSight® contact lenses, Ortho-K, and specialized myopia control glasses.

Can I wear my contact lenses to an eye exam?

Yes, but we recommend bringing your glasses as well. If you’re getting a new contact lens prescription, your optometrist may ask you to remove them before testing.

What happens during an eye exam?

A comprehensive eye exam includes:

  • A vision test to check your prescription
  • An assessment of eye coordination and movement
  • Screening for eye diseases and overall eye health

Do I need an eye exam if my vision hasn’t changed?

Yes! Even if your vision seems fine, routine exams help detect early signs of conditions like glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration before symptoms appear.

How often should I have an eye exam?

We recommend an eye exam every one to two years, depending on your age, medical history, and vision needs. Children, seniors, and individuals with specific eye conditions may require more frequent checkups.

Frames & Lenses

Can sunglasses have prescription lenses?

Absolutely! We offer custom prescription sunglasses with polarized, tinted, or transition lenses for enhanced outdoor vision.

How can I prevent my glasses from fogging up?

We offer anti-fog lens coatings to keep your lenses clear in all conditions. Proper fit adjustments also help reduce fogging.

Are high-index lenses worth it?

Yes! High-index lenses are thinner, lighter, and more comfortable, making them ideal for stronger prescriptions.

Do I need blue light lenses?

If you spend extended hours on screens, blue light lenses help reduce eye strain, improve comfort, and support better sleep.

What’s the difference between progressive and bifocal lenses?

Both correct near and distance vision, but progressive lenses provide a seamless transition without visible lines, offering a more natural viewing experience.
